A story that continues to unfold — 21 October 2026
"Every day, by accompanying children with autism in schools, by training institutions and companies to meet their needs, we are building the inclusive society of tomorrow."
— Stéphane Benhamou, founder
It all started with an encounter.
A holiday centre. A child with autism welcomed for the first time. A team that discovered, that day, that there was little or no place for this child anywhere else. No school willing to take him. No medico-social structure ready to welcome him as he was. No society that had ever thought to offer him a horizon.
From that encounter was born a conviction that has never left us: it is through inclusion in the ordinary world that people with autism can flourish. Not alongside. Not on the margins. Within.
This conviction was first carried by Stéphane Benhamou, when he founded Le Silence des Justes that same year. It has remained intact, thirty years on. It continues to shape each of our projects, each of our structures, each decision we make.
Creation of Le Silence des Justes by Stéphane Benhamou.
Opening of our first medico-social facility in Saint-Denis.
Opening of an inclusion unit at the ORT Daniel Mayer school in Montreuil.
An autistic adult supported by the association signs his first employment contract. The film The Specials is presented at the Cannes Film Festival.
Opening of a residential unit for adults with ASD in Marseille, launch of La Table des Justes — 770 staff, 265 people supported.
Thirty years after the first encounter. Here we are.

Thirty years is not an endpoint. It is a milestone.
In France, 70% of autistic children are still not enrolled in mainstream schools. Our commitment for the years ahead is clear: continue expanding our structures, strengthen professional inclusion, and keep carrying this conviction:
a truly inclusive society is possible.
Without you, nothing would have existed. Without you, nothing will continue.
